Cheat Sheets, Special Commands and Hidden Functions

Here you can find shortcuts for special commands in LAWLIFT: 

  • Ctrl + Enter in a paragraph: Newline IN paragraph WITHOUT larger line spacing
  • Enter in a paragraph: New paragraph 
  • Ctrl + Z (in the respective element): Undo last action
  • Ctrl + space or Shift + space in paragraph/heading: Insert a non-breaking space, displayed with °
  • Str + Alt + t (Windows) Crtl + shift + t (Mac) in question: change question type

Here you will find commands for entering in LAWLIFT: 

  • ::smallcaps[smallcapstext] : insert small caps in continuous text.
  • ::pagebreak (in heading or paragraph): Page break [Note: NOT possible in or under hidden headings].
  • ::restartnumbering (only in heading): Numbering restarts from this heading [BETA].
  • ::customstyle[name_of_the_style] : Assign the paragraph or heading to a special Word style from the letterhead template [BETA]
  • ::variable [NAME_DER_VARIABLEN] ::var[] ::v[] : Variables for calculation 
  • ::calculation [RECHENFORMULA] ::calc[] ::c[] : Formulas for calculations 
  • fraction(NUMBER OF FOLLOWING DIGITS) : Determines the number of decimal places displayed, e.g. "::c[a+b fraction(2)]" = two decimal places [Note: Must be entered in the brackets of the calculation].
  • decimal(comma/point) : Determines whether the decimal separator is a comma or a dot, e.g. "::c[a+b decimal(point)]" = e.g. 10.00 instead of 10,00
  • thousands(comma/point/space) : Representation of the separation of thousands of sections [Note: The entry of the numbers in the questionnaire must always be without thousands separator. Only the output is formatted].
  • words( NUMBER) : Representation of a number in words up to a maximum NUMBER of words.
  • variable(NAME OF RESULT/NEW VARIABLE) : The result of a calculation with previous variables can automatically become a new variable, for example ::c[a+b variable(sum1)]
  • ::donotpublish ::dnp : Hides elements in the publishing solution
  • ::default : Sets a default on select and multiple-choice question answers
  • ::url[NAME_OF_URL title(DISPLAYED_TITLE)]: To insert a URL within the document. "title" is optional if you want to have a different title displayed instead of the entire URL
  • ::ph[]: To create a placeholder within the text page
  • ::ph[enumerate(", “,” sowie ")]: Create a placeholder that has a multiple choice question as its source. The information inside the round brackets determines how the elements are enumerated.
  • ::ph[format(DD.MM.YYYY)]: Create a placeholder that is linked to a date field and define how the date should be formatted within the brackets. You can find further formatting options here.
  • ::today: Command that can be used within a date field to display today's date by default
  • [A-Za-z0-9]: Within the rule window of a semantic rule to define the entry of certain characters as a condition. In this case, all letters and/or numbers
  • [.]: With the condition "contains" to define any entry in a text field as a condition for a rule
Here you can find actions you can perform in LAWLIFT
  • Hold down the Shift key while clicking EXECUTE during module update when performing the module update in the template: Update for all fields is forced even if there were changes in the template that would actually lock an update for that item. [BETA]
  • Convert inline-rule to plain text: Navigate to the inline rule with the keyboard so that the inline rule is outlined. Then press the Backspace key.
